The Armani Group announces with great sadness the death of its founder, Giorgio Armani, the visionary creator and tireless driving force behind the company.
Known to his employees and collaborators as Il Signor Armani, a title reflecting their deep respect and admiration, he passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. He worked until the very end, devoted to the company, its collections, and future projects.
Giorgio Armani’s vision extended from fashion into every aspect of modern life. He was known for his pragmatic foresight, relentless curiosity, and a deep attentiveness to the present and to people. This unique perspective allowed him to build a beloved global brand and maintain an open dialogue with the world, all while actively supporting the community of his beloved Milan.
Built over fifty years, the company he founded is a testament to independence of thought and action. It will continue to reflect this spirit as his family and employees now lead the Group forward, committed to upholding his values.
A funeral chamber will be open to the public at the Armani/Teatro, Via Bergognone 59, Milan, on September 6th and 7th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The funeral will be private, as expressly requested by Mr. Armani.
